Dolomites Ski Safari – from Campitello
The Dolomites Ski Safari offers a unique skiing experience. This majestic tour takes in some of the most spectacular scenery and skiing of the Dolomites… and we know all the secrets. From Campitello we begin skiing towards Cortina and the high-altitude mountain rifugio (lodge) of Lagazuoi (2,800m). From here we head to the Col Gallina and Cinque Torri (Five Towers) ski areas above Cortina. The scenery is mind boggling – to see more take a look at the Ski Safari gallery on our Photos page.
At the end of the day we relax over drinks and one of Europe’s best sunsets. The food and wine at the Lagazuoi Rifugio are excellent and help to stamp the experience as a truly memorable overnight stay. Next morning we are the first to ski from our lofty hideaway down the 10km of the Lagazuoi Valley past frozen waterfalls before taking a horse-drawn ‘rope tow’. From here we explore Alta Badia, including the World Cup GS Course at La Villa. We return to Campitello via a different route, either through Val Gardena or Arabba, depending on conditions.
Normally run on Wednesday and Thursday (overnight Wednesday), weather and conditions permitting.
Skier Ability: Advanced intermediate; a skier who skis comfortably on most runs.
